WTHR adjusts news desk lineups
The early morning news on WTHR (Channel 13) just got earlier."Eyewitness News Sunrise" now airs a half-hour earlier weekdays, starting at 4:30 a.m. Previously, the morning news show aired from 5 to 7 a.m., with additional local news reports sprinkled in during the "Today Show" broadcast."Our hope is to serve both the early riser and possibly even those getting off third-shift schedules," according to news director Jacques Natz. The expanded morning show brought about some anchor desk changes, too.To give morning co-anchor Bruce Kopp a break, Scott Swan will take over the noon slot in addition to his duties at 5:30 p.m., according to Channel 13 promotions manager Jeff Dutton. You won't be seeing Chuck Lofton doing weather at noon anymore, either. Meteorologists Parella Lewis and Tina Simpkin will handle those duties.Julia Moffitt will continue morning and noontime co-anchor duties but will be able to handle it with a long break between the shifts, Dutton said. "All the changes are being made so as not to burn out the morning team."
