more stuph from taking down words
I will miss Parella Lewis, but I will not miss her taste in clothing. I don't believe I ever saw her in a skirt when she did the weather. If Lewis did indeed ruffle a few conservative feathers, her taste in attire had nothing to do with it.

Parella Lewis will be greatly missed in Indiana. She made it worth getting up early on the weekends just to laugh out loud. WTHR has talent that comes and goes (mostly goes), but she will be the one that I'll miss seeing the most.

She's going to MSNBC.

It is hard to believe that someone that doesn't even have the National Weather Association Seal could jump from lowly morning weekend anchor to working for MSNBC.
If that's accurate there will be national buzz about Ms. Lewis for some time to come.

Do you mean someone like Al Roker who doesn't have a seal? Or maybe you're speaking of most weathercasters on the national news without their seals. Sounds like a jealous meteorologists might be spending a little to much time posting.

You must be confused there, "weather expert", Al Roker does hold an AMS seal and is an actual meteorologist. (Al L. Roker Seal#238 on the List of AMS Television Seal Holders ) You'll notice that Angela Buchman, Michelle Leigh and Chris Wright are all listed there too.
Having an AMS or NWA seal shows that the meteorologist has actually met established standards of training for meteorology. You would expect people in other professions, say doctors and lawyers, to have taken training to meet established standards, why not your meteorologist?
Of course, the likes of Pat Carlini and David Letterman did the weather at WTHR also. Were they meteorologists? Hell, no. Did they know the Beaufort scale from the Fujita scale? No again. Does it mean that each didn't do well in other areas of the media in their own right? Of course not. Why? They look good.
Let's face it folks, what looks good gets good ratings. I'm just being honest enough to say it.
Sounds like a bitter meteorologist may be spending a little too much time posting.

wthr does have some shoes to fill, indeed. Parella Lewis is a breath of fresh air and has set the standard high for the person replacing her.She's fun, accuarate and very comforting to watch. Chris Wrong never gets the forecast right and Ms. Buchman doesn't either. I'm just sick that another good one is leaving. First Treeboy, now this. It's very disappointing.

I agree. I'll miss her very much.

{{
I've just heard talk of a possible deal between Parella Lewis and NBC 29 in Charlottesville, VA. It seems odd to me to move to a much smaller market. If it is true you can be sure there's a story behind it.
}}
On her last (final) departure, she said she was leaving for a larger market. When they showed the "bloopers" spot, there were two. And they weren't a big deal.
As far as comings & goings, when there's a new big cheese, there's housecleaning. Look at what happened to Mr. Cochrun, former WTHR anchor. You could see turnover in the personnel starting before he got there and not long afterwards. I'm guessing contracts ending just before and after were the obviously easy ones to sweep away.
The question now is: who pushed Cochrun out the door? "Retirement" seems pretty fishy. Even Don Hein is still around; rug & all. The only one who has a worse fit is Pat Bauer from the South Bene area. Isn't it about time someone has a "Come to Jesus!" revival and explain how nasty that really looks?
His brand of news might seem a lot tighter, but it's been sterile. Urine is sterile as well, but I don't see anyone lining up for their fair share.

I sure miss Parella Lewis. She was a class act.

This whole Parella thing cracks me up to no end! I knew her a few states ago, personally. She may please the male demographic but I can attest she wants nothing to do with males. Maybe she ran out of rugby players to date in Indiana.

News about news-talkers. Sad.
