Too bad no one ever taught her that you only pause when you see a comma, not when you have no idea what the next word is because the tech guy forgot to spell everything FO-NET-IK-LY on her cute little blue screen.

Was it Parella Lewis? Because my husband had the big time hots for her. She was in the bar where I used to work once when I was starting my shift. My husband was going to the track the next day so I asked her to call him and give him a weather report. She happily complied. And he had no idea who he was talking to. When I took the phone back and told him, his voice was shaking. He couldn't believe it. I totally made his night. I'm sure Parella was in his dreams that night.}}

maybe she should move to florida, for 6 months out of the year the forcast is 75 with scattered t-storms.
She really is a dumb bitch... they once were doing a segway into the weather talking about christmas shows (in dec obviously), and she said she liked the one with the rudolph the red nosed reindeer but didn't know what it was called... the other people were like you mean, rudolph the red nosed reindeer? Meteorologist on the air in Seattle
[[Attention Parella Lewis fans:
The former WTHR (Channel 13) meteorologist has taken a job at KCPQ, the Fox station in Seattle.
Lewis promised to let us know when she landed a new job, since so many people were disappointed when she left Channel 13 in January after two years on the air.
Her note said she enjoyed taking some time off and took the new gig in Washington after "interviewing everywhere from Atlanta to Washington, D.C."
She seems to be enjoying the Pacific Northwest.
"Not only am I working for a wonderful station, but Seattle has so many things to do both indoors and out."]]

Parella? Isn't she the one who looks like a human Pound Puppy with her strangely fake looking blonde hair and dark brown wooly eyebrows? Seriously, give her a cardboard box shaped like a doghouse and a red plastic pawprint on her arse, and there ya go. Pound Puppy!
She's not very pretty. Her eyebrows don't match her hair. Just something weird about her.
Wonder what color her hair really is, by cracky
LOL..I'm guessing Brown. Now, some can pull it off, she cannot. Just weird.
She's a Cajun trying to be a blonde. She left channel 13 and I forget where she was going.

I will miss Parella Lewis, but I will not miss her taste in clothing. I don't believe I ever saw her in a skirt when she did the weather. If Lewis did indeed ruffle a few conservative feathers, her taste in attire had nothing to do with it.
Posted by: RMM | Dec 10, 2006 at 06:26 AM
Parella Lewis will be greatly missed in Indiana. She made it worth getting up early on the weekends just to laugh out loud. WTHR has talent that comes and goes (mostly goes), but she will be the one that I'll miss seeing the most.

She's going to MSNBC.
Posted by: Tammy | Dec 10, 2006 at 05:26 PM
It is hard to believe that someone that doesn't even have the National Weather Association Seal could jump from lowly morning weekend anchor to working for MSNBC.
If that's accurate there will be national buzz about Ms. Lewis for some time to come.
Posted by: Noah dBZ | Dec 11, 2006 at 07:12 PM
Do you mean someone like Al Roker who doesn't have a seal? Or maybe you're speaking of most weathercasters on the national news without their seals. Sounds like a jealous meteorologists might be spending a little to much time posting.
Posted by: | Dec 12, 2006 at 02:46 PM
You must be confused there, "weather expert", Al Roker does hold an AMS seal and is an actual meteorologist. (Al L. Roker Seal#238 on the List of AMS Television Seal Holders ) You'll notice that Angela Buchman, Michelle Leigh and Chris Wright are all listed there too.
Having an AMS or NWA seal shows that the meteorologist has actually met established standards of training for meteorology. You would expect people in other professions, say doctors and lawyers, to have taken training to meet established standards, why not your meteorologist?
Of course, the likes of Pat Carlini and David Letterman did the weather at WTHR also. Were they meteorologists? Hell, no. Did they know the Beaufort scale from the Fujita scale? No again. Does it mean that each didn't do well in other areas of the media in their own right? Of course not. Why? They look good.
Let's face it folks, what looks good gets good ratings. I'm just being honest enough to say it.
Sounds like a bitter meteorologist may be spending a little too much time posting.
Posted by: Noah dBZ | Dec 12, 2006 at 10:53 PM
wthr does have some shoes to fill, indeed. Parella Lewis is a breath of fresh air and has set the standard high for the person replacing her. She's fun, accuarate and very comforting to watch. Chris Wrong never gets the forecast right and Ms. Buchman doesn't either. I'm just sick that another good one is leaving. First Treeboy, now this. It's very disappointing.

I've just heard talk of a possible deal between Parella Lewis and NBC 29 in Charlottesville, VA. It seems odd to me to move to a much smaller market. If it is true you can be sure there's a story behind it.
}}
On her last (final) departure, she said she was leaving for a larger market. When they showed the "bloopers" spot, there were two. And they weren't a big deal.
As far as comings & goings, when there's a new big cheese, there's housecleaning. Look at what happened to Mr. Cochrun, former WTHR anchor. You could see turnover in the personnel starting before he got there and not long afterwards. I'm guessing contracts ending just before and after were the obviously easy ones to sweep away.
The question now is: who pushed Cochrun out the door? "Retirement" seems pretty fishy. Even Don Hein is still around; rug & all. The only one who has a worse fit is Pat Bauer from the South Bene area. Isn't it about time someone has a "Come to Jesus!" revival and explain how nasty that really looks?
His brand of news might seem a lot tighter, but it's been sterile. Urine is sterile as well, but I don't see anyone lining up for their fair share.

Dick Rea's contract with WTHR had expired a few months ago and he has been working as a freelancer since then.
Posted by: | Dec 06, 2006 at 05:08 PM
Roger Harvey won't be missed by this Hoosier. It is unfortunate about Parella Lewis and Dick Rea though. It appears that WTHR is seeing a mass exodus of much of their talent base.
Posted by: Gabrielle | Dec 06, 2006 at 06:24 PM
I don't think that 13 has filled Roger Harvey's spot yet but if you look at the Dispatch Broadcast Group (parent co. of WTHR) career opportunity page you won't see an opening for the weather department. WTHR may have it filled allready, and her departure may be hush-hush much like Tim "Tree Boy" Bush's was. It makes you wonder if Parella Lewis might have ruffled a few too many conservative feathers around there. What a shame.

On the other hand Alex Sanz made a great climb up the job ladder with his move to KHOU. It's a prominent large-marekt station that I watched while living in Houston a few years back.
I hope WTHR can now sign some rock solid talent. There is nothing wrong with a little eye candy but it is supposed to be the news after all.

Let me tell you, she and Parella did NOT get along.
At 8:22 AM, September 06, 2005, Anonymous said...
That's because Parella was a guy.
Monday
Parella Lewis joined Arkansas's first dual weather team in June, 2001. She first caught the broadcast bug by becoming a talk-show host for a radio station, where she moved on to become the news director. Parella then took the next logical step in her broadcast career by becoming the 5, 6, and 10 weather anchor for Lafayette, Louisiana's ABC affiliate. She is a graduate of the University of Louisiana.
Parella enjoys giving KARK viewers information that really affects them; not only what the weather will be like, but what impact it will have on them. For example, she spent an entire mid-July newscast inside a vehicle to demonstrate just how hot the car would get for someone left inside. She understands that giving a fast, accurate forecast can be crucial to the safety of our viewers, and she strives to do just that.
As a child, Parella traveled the globe with her family, who are heavily involved in international missions. As a result, she was exposed to a variety of weather conditions from around the world. In addition to her international travels with her family, she also loves getting involved in her community. She has volunteered for various law enforcement agencies, and one of her special interests is giving troubled teens a second chance.
When not at work, Parella enjoys music and spending time in the great Arkansas outdoors. She is a member of the Central Arkansas chapter of the American Meteorological Society.

Women Of Weather: Cast Your Vote For The Cutest Green Screen Queen
Last week, we brought you War Of The Indy Radio Talk Show Hosts. This week, we've decided to go with something a bit, er, bubblier. Because as much fun as it is to watch political hosts attacking one another, it's even more fun, at least for most boys out there, to imagine the Women Of Weather attacking each other. With pillows.
And so, as a light-hearted end to this gorgeous day, we want to placate our male audience by posing the question: Who's hotter, Angela or Parella?
For those of you not in Central Indiana, we're referring to the battle between WTHR (NBC)and WISH (CBS), two Indy stations that have been trying to one-up each other in recent years by hiring perky, cute meteorologists. (Which, by the way, is a difficult job that apparently requires a whole bunch of training. And, depending on which station you watch, the latest Doppler VIPIR Mixmaster 9000 Super Special Weathercasting Machine.)
Anyway, WISH got the ball rolling in August 2001 when it brought Angela Buchman (top right) on board. But WTHR was not to be outdone. In January 2004, that station hired Parella Lewis (above left) to talk about cold fronts and jet streams, all the while pleasing the male demographic.
We should note that WRTV (ABC) has a cute weekend meteorologist, Crystal Wicker, and WXIN (FOX) has its share of eye candy on every newscast. But the true battle, at least as we see it, has to come down to Angela v. Parella. Cast yer votes, boys.
For those who are keeping score at home, yes, we realize this is a small step toward evening out our drippy Brad Ellsworth coverage. But we never claimed fairness nor balance.

some of us guys like perky weather guys! Rob Marciano on CNN is so hunky when he's soaking wet and tracking hurricanes...

I've had a thing for Parella since she started here. Great personality, not fakey, very girl-next-door.
Too bad she has to hang out with "Tree-Boy"-- are we watching Barney or the news? What the hell kind of name is that?
Posted by: Sarty Snopes | Apr 11, 2006 at 04:43 PM
Didn't Treeboy get fired?
Posted by: | Apr 11, 2006 at 04:45 PM
I sure hope so-- if for no other reason that he called himself "Tree-Boy."
Anchor: Did you know that there's a guy running around here who calls himself "Treeboy?"
Station Manager: Seriously? Get rid of him.
Posted by: Sarty Snopes | Apr 11, 2006 at 04:58 PM
Getting back on topic, there's no competition here, Angela all the way.
I hated tree-boy too.
Posted by: | Apr 11, 2006 at 06:27 PM
No question Angela. But I wouldn't turn either down, cause you know I have the ladies lining up for their chance with me.

Saying that Angela Buchman is hotter than Parella Lewis is like saying that Christina Agulaererereera is hotter than Isabella Rossellini.
Posted by: Henry Schricker | Apr 11, 2006 at 07:41 PM
Angela Buchman--hands down. There is nothing more to say.
Posted by: Warm Front In My Pants | Apr 11, 2006 at 09:29 PM
Angela is my favorite...
Posted by: Mr. Buchman | Apr 11, 2006 at 10:47 PM
um. kinda a sexist question, isn't it? "Cast yer votes BOYS"?
This GIRL votes Parella with that oh-so-sexy tea leoni voice.
Who knows, maybe some of the BOYS like the brad ellsworth coverage too :)
Posted by: | Apr 11, 2006 at 10:54 PM
When I visit my mom's house in Peru, Indiana I tend to gravitate toward WISH and Angela Buchman. She has my vote.
By the way, is there anyone else with nostalgic feelings for former WTHR anchor Robin Wolfram?
As to the comment about Isabella Rossellini, when did it become a sin to be a brunette on tv?
Posted by: Dustin Blythe | Apr 11, 2006 at 10:59 PM
dustin, i remember a weekend weather girl on channel 13 during the mid 1980s. her name was nancy rogers.
a local group, the cousins from venus, had a song about her. some the the lyrics went "there's a storm in my heart for the weathergirl on channel 13."
and i vote for kim king. third-party weather babes should be allowed on the ballot.
Posted by: harry near indy | Apr 12, 2006 at 03:42 AM
Angela all the way. Just last night, I watched the weather forecast and still don't know if it's going to rain or not because of that piece of eye candy!
Posted by: | Apr 12, 2006 at 07:45 AM
You're right. The question was kinda sexist. But it's been mostly men complaining that I only post pictures of hot men in politics, so my main goal was to shelve their criticism.
My apologies.
Posted by: TDW | Apr 12, 2006 at 07:52 AM
I'll need to spend some time with both Angela and Parella to finalize my vote. TDW, anyway to make that happen?
Posted by: garvey | Apr 12, 2006 at 08:05 AM
Alas, I do not know the Women Of Weather. I get the feeling I would be far more popular if I did.
Posted by: TDW | Apr 12, 2006 at 08:55 AM
Sexist? How about hiring a weatherwoman you think guys will like in order to sell them your advertisor's products? Who, exactly, is this trying to exploit?
Sorry. I'm still horny for beer babes, a lifelong indoctrination (thanks, budweiser) that still tempts me to believe that drinking cheap beer will magically associate me with large-breasted blonde women. When I start getting wood for a thunderstorm, I'll let you know.
Posted by: yanniatacrapolis | Apr 12, 2006 at 09:32 AM
No disagreement that it's a shameless TV ploy. But this is the same medium that brings countless horrible reality shows into our living rooms each night.
I expect more from other media. Television is a lost cause.
Posted by: TDW | Apr 12, 2006 at 09:48 AM
At our house, the major debate is not Angela vs. Parella, but whether the frequent hair changes of Angela are correlated to storm fronts, station politics, or Mitch's gaffes.
Posted by: wilky | Apr 12, 2006 at 10:18 AM
bad news for fans of TDW but Angela is a big time Republican
Posted by: WISH or WTHR | Apr 12, 2006 at 09:02 PM
what about parella??? that could be the deciding factor!
Posted by: | Apr 12, 2006 at 10:45 PM
Angela's got the better legs. Parella wears those hand-me-down pant suits from Julia Moffitt.
Posted by: Legman | Apr 13, 2006 at 12:58 AM
There is NO contest here. Parella all the way! Just because a woman is attractive doesn't mean she's a bubble-headed bleach blonde.
Posted by: | Apr 14, 2006 at 02:39 PM
I have seen them both in person and Parella Lewis gets my vote. She makes you feel like you've known her forever. And she's great to look at to!
Posted by: which one? | Apr 15, 2006 at 02:39 PM
They're both beauties. I think Parella is more "real". Besides, isn't she still single?
Posted by: jierca | Apr 16, 2006 at 09:52 AM
single? I guess so. Not married anyhow, as I know Angela is.
Posted by: | Apr 17, 2006 at 03:13 PM
angela's had two kids! and she lost all the weight so quickly! if all the women in this world could be so lucky -- or beautiful!
Posted by: | Apr 17, 2006 at 03:16 PM
My choice is Parella Lewis. Just once, I wish she would wear a skirt that isn't too long! And Kim King has a nice set of gams.
Posted by: Rich | Apr 18, 2006 at 06:57 PM
Actually, seeing Parella Lewis in a skirt, period would be a step in the right direction. Why does she always wear pants?
Posted by: Rich | Apr 18, 2006 at 06:59 PM
Some women just aren't skirt wearing types, you know what I mean? ;-) But I'm with you all the way betting she has some fantastic legs.
Posted by: skirtchasinglady | Apr 19, 2006 at 06:49 AM
Who cares about skirts? This is 2006, you know. Anyway, my vote goes to Parella Lewis. I guess you can say that I'm just a sucker for southern charm. There is just something about that girl!
Posted by: whocaresaboutskirts | Apr 19, 2006 at 10:57 AM
Angela all the way! She is only reason my TV occasionally turns to channel 8 news, from 13. Have you not seen how well her clothes fit against her curves?
Posted by: Brian | Apr 19, 2006 at 11:01 AM
Parella hands down.
Posted by: David | Apr 21, 2006 at 08:18 AM
I think this vote comes down to preference. Both women have something to offer, but nothing in common. There is the soccer mom and girl next door to choose from, but It's ashame their not on the same staion. Then my televison would never be turned off. By the way, what about the other attractive women on tv? we should talk about them as well.
Posted by: | Apr 26, 2006 at 04:39 PM
I try not to censor things. Some blogs do, but I think it sends the wrong message.
However, if the ugliness persists, I'll close down the thread, which really is a more general form of censorship.
Play nicely.
Posted by: TDW | Apr 27, 2006 at 11:52 AM
Thanks, paula.
I don't think I get a vote, either, since I rarely watch local weather. I find it more fun to be pleasantly or unpleasantly surprised each morning. You know, like when you go to bed with an open window thinking it's going to be a mild night, but then you wake up and it's, like, 25 degrees in the room.
That's way more fun than paying attention to Super Doppler Rockin' Awesomeness 5300.
Posted by: TDW | Apr 27, 2006 at 02:11 PM
Vote goes for Parella, seems like the girl next door (if you were one lucky bastard). Seems like she'd look as good first thing in the morning as she does when she's on tv.
As for her preference....really no ones business but her own, but just because she was seen having a good time with a female friend doesn't mean that is her choice.
Posted by: Parella Fan | May 01, 2006 at 07:28 PM
Sorry to take away the fun, but I've decided to use my rarely used power of censorship to delete the ugly comments from this thread and close it to further comments.
This wasn't a political thread, nor was it intended to personally attack those under discussion. It was just supposed to be a fun break from the usual.

WTHR adjusts news desk lineups
The early morning news on WTHR (Channel 13) just got earlier."Eyewitness News Sunrise" now airs a half-hour earlier weekdays, starting at 4:30 a.m. Previously, the morning news show aired from 5 to 7 a.m., with additional local news reports sprinkled in during the "Today Show" broadcast."Our hope is to serve both the early riser and possibly even those getting off third-shift schedules," according to news director Jacques Natz. The expanded morning show brought about some anchor desk changes, too.To give morning co-anchor Bruce Kopp a break, Scott Swan will take over the noon slot in addition to his duties at 5:30 p.m., according to Channel 13 promotions manager Jeff Dutton. You won't be seeing Chuck Lofton doing weather at noon anymore, either. Meteorologists Parella Lewis and Tina Simpkin will handle those duties.Julia Moffitt will continue morning and noontime co-anchor duties but will be able to handle it with a long break between the shifts, Dutton said. "All the changes are being made so as not to burn out the morning team."
Friday
Lewis spent two and a half years covering the weather desk at KARK. While in Little Rock, she was part of the state's first dual weather team where she shared the 5, 6 &10:00 p.m. weathercasts with the chief meteorologist. Parella went on to become the weekend anchor and primary storm chaser, tracking down tornadoes and severe weather throughout the state.Parella began her career in the place she spent most of her childhood. She worked as the 5,6 & 10 p.m. weather anchor at KATC TV in Lafayette, Louisiana, where she forecasted everything from hurricanes and floods to extreme heat. She is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. What's Lewis doing now? After leaving KARK in late 2003, she has found a home at WTHR, Indianapolis, Indiana. Lewis can be seen anchoring "Weekend Sunrise" Saturday and Sunday mornings on WTHR.

KARK stopped the dual weather thing and moved her to weekends when research showed she was scoring higher then Brett Cummings. I had never heard of a station demoting someone for scoring too high in research, until KARK did it. Glad to see she's doing well.

Channel 13 Bio
Parella Lewis joined the SkyTrak weather team in January, 2004, and can be seen anchoring "Weekend Sunrise" Saturday and Sunday mornings on Channel 13. She came to Indianapolis from the NBC affiliate in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she spent two and a half years as a meteorologist. While in Little Rock, she was part of the state's first dual weather team where she shared the 5, 6 &10:00 p.m. weathercasts with the chief meteorologist. Parella went on to become the weekend anchor and primary storm chaser, tracking down tornadoes and severe weather throughout the state.
Parella began her career in the place she spent most of her childhood. She worked as the 5,6 & 10 p.m. weather anchor at KATC TV in Lafayette, Louisiana, where she forecasted everything from hurricanes and floods to extreme heat. She is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Parella has always enjoyed being active in her community. She served as vice co-chair of Lafayette Teen Court, an organization designed to give teens in trouble a second chance. While in Little Rock, Parella was named Volunteer of the Year by the Juvenile Diabetes association and was given the treasured Blue Knight award by Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Parella loves Indiana and is eager to become involved in her new community as well.
Parella spent over two years with her family in Kenya, Africa, when she was a teenager and her parents remain heavily involved in international missions. When not at work, she spends her time doing outdoor activities such as running, hiking and kayaking. She also enjoys playing and working on music in her spare time.
